Nanny or Mother's Help

I am currently working part-time in a local Nursery (from Nov 2007) but would really like to return to working as a Nanny with a family. I have a wealth of experience looking after children of all ages from 6 months to 16 years both as a Nanny and as a Nursery worker and have excellent references from previous employers.

I am looking for a part-time job - preferably two days a week but would consider three. I don’t want to work split shifts. I am looking for a long-term commitment, as I prefer to build up a relationship with the family and their child/children.

I am looking for a job in the Seaford, Lewes or Eastbourne area. If it were Lewes or Brighton I would be travelling to and from work by train.

I moved from Edinburgh to Seaford in August 2007. Before I left Edinburgh I had two part-time jobs in parallel – one as a Nanny looking after a 1 year old for a family and the second as a Relief Creche Assistant for Edinburgh Leisure (responsible for running all the leisure centres in the Edinburgh Area with children from 6 weeks to 5 years).

Before that I looked after a family of 3 children (age 5, 6 and 13 when I started). This job also often involved looking after other children from the extended family. I was with the family for 4 years until their needs changed.

I have also worked in a private Nursery (2 years) and as an Assistant Teacher in a Cookery School (10 years). I have always had two passions in life – food and children and have had a twin-track career following these interests.

I am a positive and fun loving individual. My work ethic is fun, firm and fair. I try to be an extension of the family reinforcing the norms and expectations of the parents so that the child/children have a consistent environment for their upbringing.

I have a recent full Police Disclosure Certificate. I can provide names and contact details of previous employers for excellent references.

I am happy to engage in any activity that contributes to the household and supports the parents – housework, cooking etc.
