MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
To provide a focal point for the Pressure Systems and Inspection disciplines and act as Technical Authority within our clients Team and the Operations Teams. To take ownership of the development and maintenance of Pressure Systems processes, procedures and guidance in support of the IIM Function Manager.

To define competency requirements for the Pressure Systems discipline on behalf of the IIM Function Manager, and to assist in the competency assessment and training requirements of all personnel who have an input, or issue deliverables related to, Pressure Systems.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Responsibilities:

All the noted elements are to be carried out on behalf of the Function Manager in a balanced manner with respect to Health, Safety, Environment, Quality, Security, and encompass all legal and contractual requirements. All instances of deviation, especially where working outside Oceaneering environment, are to be notified to line management, and where the nature of the operations so requires, task risk reviews should be performed.

Technical
• Determine company wide “best practice” for the discipline.
• Develop and maintain discipline processes, procedures, and guidance documents consistent with those of other Function disciplines.
• Where possible, work towards combining processes, procedures and guidance documents with other function disciplines.
• Act as custodian for all discipline procedures, and ensure they are reviewed and updated on a regular basis to reflect company and industry best practice.
• Perform audits of enactment of discipline procedures.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance, and provide focal point to all IIM Operations groups.
• Provide technical consultancy direct to clients when necessary whilst ensuring appropriate commercial arrangements are in place.
• Perform engineering analysis and assessments - including fitness for service review.)
• Perform audits on subcontractors to ensure validity of methods and reporting used.
• Outsource discipline studies where appropriate, and when approved by Senior Management, to specialists within our client or elsewhere in the industry and manage their activities.

Training and Competency
• Define competency requirements for all activities noted within discipline processes, procedures and guidelines.
• Assist in the competency assessment of all personnel who have an input, or issue deliverables related to discipline.
• Identify suitable training in accordance with personnel competency assessments.
• Mentor all personnel involved in compilation of discipline deliverables.
• Develop chartered engineer discipline training regime, and aim to gain approval from engineering body.
In conjunction with Operations team, develop succession planning for discipline personnel
• as required.

Business Development
• Provide discipline input into tenders, proposals and CTRs.
• Attend client business development meetings and make presentations as necessary.
• Develop and maintain standard literature and presentation material for our clients abilities in the discipline.

Innovations
• Maintain and enhance personal and company technical knowledge by review of industry literature, attendance at seminars and conferences, and cascade of information to discipline personnel.
• Endeavour to develop innovative solutions, in order to optimise engineering efficiency and differentiate our client from its competitors.
• Regularly review of day to day operations in order to consider available options or opportunities that could enhance efficiency, and/or safety or decrease costs, to the benefit of our client.

Communications
• Cascade information to all associated discipline personnel.
• Attend technical and operational meetings as required.
• Inform Oceaneering departments on activities and innovations.
• Ensure Operations Managers/ Team Leaders approve or are informed (as specified by the Operations Group) of all external communications relating to their projects.

Experience

Extensive experience in pressure systems arena.
Solid experience in inspection/ integrity arena
Management training.
Communications skills.
Familiarity with ACET or other databases and other discipline specific software.
Supervisory experience.
Chartered Engineer
API 510/570 ASME Plant Inspector Level 2 or equivalent.
Experience of pressure systems design, installation, maintenance, repair and management.
Experience as Inspection/ Integrity engineer.
