Role Profile
A leading global logistics company is looking for an experienced, commercially minded, Airfreight Sales Manager, who must be able to demonstrate that they have previously added significant value to an airfreight operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for the generation, development and facilitation of new business, and to assist and provide fast, competitive, solutions for our Sales Team. They will, ideally bring across business to assist corporate growth, and identify work areas that require commercial exploitation. They will negotiate with air carriers for the best possible rates and find ways to continually improve the overall cost of airfreight shipping and service levels. They will quote customers and follow up on all quotes to secure new business and build relationships. They will liaise with overseas agents quoting charges and obtaining charges for quotations.
Skills & Experience
You must be able to work effectively within the team, with a passion to grow the business, a desire to progress your own career, and realise your full potential. You should have strong managerial skills, with a desire to provide excellent client liaison and service.
You should be able to gather information from a variety of sources, to challenge information and apply decision making techniques to come to an informed decision. You should be proactive and flexible in building and maintaining effective networks. You should take responsibility and ownership for successful implementation.
You should have a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and be able to set target objectives with the team and monitor results.
You should be able to work and co-operate with other team members in an open and honest way, encouraging involvement and the sharing of ideas to achieve business objectives.
A working knowledge of trans-shipping procedures would be an advantage.
