CQA / Site based Geotechnical / Geological Engineer

£25-35,000 (negotiable for more senior candidates) plus benefits
An independent and well established environmental consultancy based in the West Midlands has a requirement for a site based landfill engineer to undertake the design, specification and project management of landfill engineering construction works. You will be working as part of a team of engineers reporting directly to the technical director of the department.
Responsibilities
• Project management of landfill engineering projects.
• Prepare landfill engineering specifications, completion reports, CQA plans and tender documents.
• Site supervision of landfill engineering projects
• Geological and geotechnical investigations for waste management sites, contaminated land, mineral extraction and other development projects assessing environmental impacts and undertaking risk assessments
• Preparation of specifications and contract documents for site investigations, laboratory testing and construction works.
• Monitoring the impact on the environment of contaminated sites including landfills.
• Field supervision of drilling operatives, borehole installation and logging of boreholes
• Preparation of tender documents
Experience
• BSc, MSc in Civil Engineering, Geology or Earth Sciences related discipline
• Experience of landfill site supervision and construction quality assurance (CQA).
• Knowledge and experience of contract administration particularly ICE and or NEC contracts.
• Experience of geotechnical and contaminated land investigation works.
• Previous experience in a similar role desirable
• High standards of written work
• Ability to prioritise workloads
• Systems literate with a good working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Word and Excel
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Good administrative skills
• Driving Licence
