Communications Co-ordinator

Salary: 18 - 22k per annum (pro rata)
The Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers (IGEM) is looking to recruit an innovative and experienced Communications Co-ordinator to develop the Institution's website, increase its online presence and lead the use of new media technologies.
Principle Responsibilities
Working as part of the Marketing Communications team the post holder's principle responsibility will be to increase the Institution's online profile and maximise the use of new technologies and media channels such as blogs, social media and mobile phone applications.
The Communication's Co-ordinator will also be responsible managing the development of the IGEM website to ensure that it becomes and exemplar of best practice and will work alongside the Institution's IT Services Co-ordinator to ensure that content is regularly produced and uploaded.
To compliment the website, the post holder will be required produce and publish inspirational content across a range of online mechanisms to promote IGEM's full range products and services and raise the profile of its work across the sector. In short the individual will become an advocate of IGEM in online and social media spaces.
Skills & Attributes
A self-motivated and proactive individual the successful candidate will have previous experience developing and managing online content and be skilled in exploiting all online opportunities for promotion. They will be experienced using social media including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and flickr and will have a demonstrable understanding of how organisations can use these to best effect.
A relevant qualification in marketing or communications is required along with a passion for anything and everything connected with communications technologies. The pot-holder will be required to work independently and as part of a team and must possess strong written and verbal communication skills in order to write effective copy and liaise with individuals from across the Institution.
