This is a fantastic opportunity for a Product (Distillate) Trader to work for a leading integrated energy company
Product Supply & Trading has worldwide responsibility for international product trading. The London office concentrates on trading of physical refined products originating in or destined for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East including US arbitrages. Trading in oil paper derivatives is also a core function.
They require an energised team player who can assume considerable responsibilities in a pressurised environment. The successful trader will be able to make decisions, grasp concepts quickly, have an eye for detail and influence those around them.
As Product Trader your key responsibilities will include:
* Purchasing and Selling blend components and finished products
* Purchasing and selling diesel, gasoil and components from/to 3rd parties on a "trading" basis
* Monitoring price arbitrage opportunities for diesel and gasoil components and trading to capture opportunities
* Developing and managing middle distillate blending and storage positions utilising storage locations in the ARA region.
* Utilising the futures and derivative markets for inventory hedging and speculative trading
* Evaluating markets and market trends and communicating with other Supply & Trading offices
* Ensuring all trading activities are conducted within appropriate delegations of authority and conform with Risk Manual Guidelines
Your duties will include:
* Negotiating term and spot contracts for sales and purchases of finished products and blend stocks. Ensuring each contract is performed in accordance with agreed terms
* Co-ordinating intercompany purchase/sale opportunities within the organisation and keeping fully informed of market conditions in order to formulate arbitrage and identifying market opportunities
* Identifying and executing 3rd Party trades on a "for profit basis" and utilising the appropriate paper markets to hedge and optimise positions.
As Product (Distillate) Trader you'll ideally be qualified to degree or equivalent level in a Chemical Engineering (preferred) or economic/business discipline. You'll have experience or knowledge of ARA and European Middle Distillate markets and experience in distillate blending and managing storage locations. You'll be commercially orientated with sound business judgement with an innovative outlook. A flexible approach to working hours is vital to accommodate the significant variation in workloads associated with a busy trading operation. Periodic travel may be required.
