Language House requires experienced language tutors for private tuition throughout the UK.
Tutors are needed for the following languages:
French, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese, English (General English and ESOL), Polish, Czech, Russian, Greek, Turkish, Arabic, Hebrew, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and Farsi.
Tuition generally takes place at the student's home or that of the tutor according to the student’s preference. Tutors are free to set their own hourly rate although most tutors charge £20 - £25 per hour. Students pay the tutor directly after each class.
Tutors must have at least twelve months language teaching experience and be educated to degree level. A teaching qualification, although not essential, would be an advantage. Tutors who lack a valid CRB will only be considered for teaching adults.
Tutors must be used to teaching these languages to speakers of other languages. Therefore Urdu tutors must be able to teach this as a foreign language, not just to people who already speak this language.
For non-European languages (Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and Farsi), tutors should be able to teach these languages transcribed into the Roman alphabet as many learners are only interested in speaking these languages and have no interest in reading or writing.
