Job Purpose:
The position shall be responsible for acting as the Client COMPANY Senior Representative for offshore survey operations undertaken by contractors and the position shall be based on-board the contractors vessel. The positions primary responsibilities are to act as the Client contract focal point offshore, coordination of the contractors work execution operations with the Client offshore OIM and other Client assets, the monitoring of the contractors HSE Plan implementation and the performance of QA/QC checks of the contractors gathered data.

Role & Responsibilities:
HSE:
- Shall be responsible for ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with HSE Policies and Procedures.
- Shall be responsible for reviewing proposed project HSE Plans and ensuring that a suitable plan is in-place.
- Shall ensure that the Contractor continually reviews and up-dates his hazard assessments, appropriate to the work conditions actually being experienced.
- Shall be responsible for performing a mobilisation inspection of the Contractors survey equipment and its configuration and verifying its compliance to the required HSE Standards.
- Shall act as the On-Scene Representative in the event of any offshore Emergency incident and shall act in support of the Vessel Master and liaise with the RasGas offshore OIM as required.
- Shall monitor the Contractors HSE performance and compliance to its HSE Plan and shall actively engage in equipment, vessel and personnel HSE inspections and assessments.
Operational:
- Shall be responsibile for acting as the Offshore Contract Representative, liaising with the Senior Engineer (Marine) for interpretation clarification as required.
- Shall attend the Contractors Daily Operations meeting shall cascade appropriate information related to the performance of the work.
- Shall be responsible for ensuring that the work is performed in accordance with the Contractors Quality Plans and shall ensure that all equipment calibrations are valid and carried-out with the appropriate frequency.
- Shall perform QA/QC checks on all prime survey data to ensure its validity.
- Shall perform QA/QC checks on the gathered survey data to ensure its validity and correct interpretation and charting.
- Shall provide operational feed-back to the Senior Engineer (Marine) and submit operations performance reports as required.
- Shall produce an Operations Report in conjunction with the Contractor for the purposes of identifying opportunities for future project and performance improvements

Knowledge, Skills and Requirements:
- Qualification in Hydrographic Surveying. Preference for an additional HSE Qualification (e.g. NEBOSH General or International Certificate or similar training, qualification or demonstrated competence).
- Experience in performing offshore hydrographic surveys of pipelines and general surveys by side-scan sonar, sub-bottom profilers, single and multi-beam echo-sounders and magnatometers using DGPS.
- Experienced in the use and calibrations of accoustic tracking systems (USBL / LBL)
- Processing experience of all of the above mentioned recording equipment.
- Ability to produce QA/QC reports and charts produced onboard the vessel
- Experience of performing this role of similar
- Experience in monitoring and mentoring the implementation of HSE systems on vessel based survey operations
- Excellent inter-personal skills and abilities
- Excellent administrative and record keeping skills and abilities
