Within their Systems Engineering Department at the Steam Turbine Product Centre in Rugby, they have vacancy for a Senior Engineer to provide design engineering input for auxiliary systems associated with large steam turbines. Such auxiliary systems typically include:
• Lubricating oil and jacking oil systems
• Hydraulic fluid system and steam valve actuators
• Turbine gland steam sealing and drains systems
The main duties and responsibilities for this role will include:
• Provision of Systems Engineering design expertise to Thermal Services customers
• Provision of Systems Engineering design expertise for steam turbine retrofit projects
• Providing engineering support for in works overhaul and on-site activities to ensure that components are refurbished correctly and returned to service safely and reliably
• Providing technical input to spares enquiries and orders to ensure that correct components to the latest design are used
• Providing technical input to tenders to ensure customer requirements are satisfied whilst being attractive to the customer
Candidates must be qualified to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent; have relevant industrial experience; knowledge of the theory and design of steam turbines and associated auxiliary systems including operation and maintenance issues; have high technical ability; have excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrable communication skills; have a clear understanding and proactive approach to HSE and Quality issues and be computer literate in a variety of Microsoft applications.
The role may involve travel within the UK and potentially overseas
