The Inn on the Park is a popular, bustling cafe, situated in the historic park of Verulamium in St Albans, just a short walk from the town centre and the nearby Roman Verulamium Museum.
The cafe overlooks the beautiful surroundings of 100 acres of parkland where there are many amenities including a children's playground, water splash park, tennis courts, crazy golf, basketball court, outdoor gym and the large lake which attracts many kinds of wildlife.
Formed 7 years ago, we are a small family business which has already grown tremendously since its beginnings.
We recently won the local Family Friendly Venue of the year, all due to our hard work, good food and excellent service.
The Inn on the Park cafe is open all year round, except Christmas Day, 9am to 5pm, seven days a week, with some seasonal variations.
Our offering
We serve breakfasts, lunch and Afternoon Teas as well as catering for children's parties, exclusive hire parties and seasonal events, including summer bbq's and theatre evenings
.We also do occasional outside catering at events such as half marathons and football matches.
A passionate & enthusiastic, motivated chef is required to manage the kitchen for this busy, thriving cafe.
You should ideally have experience of working in a similar environment, for an independent company.
You must have good communication skills and be able to lead, direct and supervise your small team.
A desire to assist with developing the menus, using seasonal and local produce whilst being constantly aware of costs, wastage and stock rotation will be a great advantage.
An inclination to work in a clean and organised environment is desired with regular cleaning duties to be undertaken.
You must have evidence of completion of a recent Food Hygiene course and be willing to undertake First Aid training if necessary
This is a very hands on role with an occasional necessity to assist in the serving areas of the business too.
You will be responsible to the Directors of the business, whilst reporting and liaising with the Cafe Manager .

Salary is above the minimum wage and will be discussed at interview, proportionate to experience.
