Waste Regulatory Consultant

This successful independent geo-environmental consultancy with particular expertise in the waste management, and brownfield land development sectors is seeking an experience Waste Consultant with a background in waste facility regulation.
Responsibilities
• Working with an existing team preparing regulatory applications to support the development of major waste management facilities including, landfill sites, treatment plants and energy from waste activities.
• Preparation of Environmental Permits and planning applications.
• Working on a wide range of related technical, scientific or engineering subjects, including environmental impact studies (EIA), risk assessments, technical design, civils contract management, site investigations and contaminated land assessment.
• Liaise with our clients and the regulatory authorities.
Experience required
• Strong experience of waste regulation
• Relevant first degree and preferably a higher degree
• Chartered status and/or membership of a relevant body (CIWM, CIWEM, IEMA, Geol Soc, ICE) would be an advantage.
• Good written and personal communication skills are essential
• Thorough and up to date understanding of the relevant regulatory regimes.
• Experience of one or more of the following would be desirable:
o odour and bio-aerosol risk assessments
o air dispersion modelling;
o groundwater risk assessment.
