KNOWLEDGE
I truly understand the needs of minority group and also strongly committed to the principals of equal opportunity. When working as a Residential Support Worker at Alpha Consulting UK LTD, London and indeed other employers, we were made to adhere to treatment of each individual no matter their race, creed, age and social background as equal. I followed these principles and carried out all duties I was asked to perform in a diligent manner. My personal belief is that every person is the same and each individual deserves their due respect. Additionally, I always stick to Health and Safety requirements, practices and proper risk management while performing my duties.
QUALIFICATION
I have just completed my QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care course to enhance my skills and abilities and therefore attain the required standard and level of practice desired when the opportunity arises.
EXPERIENCE
Although the role does not necessarily require specific experience initially, I strongly believe that my experience in support work and the on-the-job trainings I underwent, the right attitude and passion I have places me favourably on top in carrying out the role.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
I have several years experience providing support to clientele in a residential setting. My skills and abilities involve various aspects of health and social care including cooking and cleaning. Also during my affiliation with Alpha Consulting UK Ltd working at assigned residential homes in London, I was responsible for assessing resident’s needs and progress, providing personal hygiene and care, arranging GP appointments and collecting prescriptions, administration of medication, accompanying the residents on outings, creating a safe and positive living environment, organising the laundry, keeping records and writing reports, liaising with residents’ families, engaging in activities of interest to the clients and working with other health and social care professionals.
I am educated to O and A Level and therefore have excellent literacy and numeracy skills. My skills and abilities to read and write are perfect and would have no problem reading safety information, instructions and training course notes. I am also fluent in English and understand the language quite well. Time is of the essence when it comes to meeting deadlines and that’s the reason I am always punctual at work to receive the pre-work hand-overs and briefings.
OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
I quite understand the key tasks and responsibilities involved in the range and level of work expected of the post-holder. As such, am prepared to work independently or within a team to encourage and support adults with learning disabilities in all aspects of their everyday lives, providing practical, physical, and emotional support, at any location at anytime whenever required. I enjoy challenges of new situations and derive pleasure providing support to vulnerable service-users and motivating team spirit to meet deadlines.
Finally, I believe that the knowledge and experience obtained over the years doing support work roles in various care homes will be a great asset to the organization when I join your team.
